QA is responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and supporting quantitative models for valuation and risk management of traded assets, regulatory and economic capital, impairments, asset-liability management, operational risk, net revenue and balance sheet forecasting, and stress testing across Barclays. The Quantitative Modeller position provides project specific leadership in building targeting solutions that integrate effectively into existing systems and processes while delivering strong and consistent performance. Working with QA Managers, the quantitative modeller role provides expertise in project design, predictive model development, validation, monitoring, tracking, implementation and/or specification.

To be successful as a Junior Quantitative Analyst, you must possess (Basic/ Essential Qualifications):Good Mathematical and Statistical Knowledge. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, for developing, implementing and optimizing quantitative models. Understanding Economic Capital, operational risk concepts, and quantitative modelling is crucial for developing models that accurately forecast operational risk losses and create operational risk structure scenarios The ability to analyse complex data, identify patterns, and solve problems is critical for developing effective quantitative models. Working closely with US or UK team members, IVU, and other stakeholders requires strong collaboration and communication skills. Some other highly valued skills may include:Good presentation and communication skill. Should be a quick learner. Being flexible and open to new ideas and approaches. Strong analytical skills. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.Location: Noida.Purpose of the roleTo design, develop, implement, and support mathematical, statistical, and machine learning models and analytics used in business decision-makingAccountabilitiesDesign analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise. Collaboration with technology to specify any dependencies required for analytical solutions, such as data, development environments and tools. Development of high performing, comprehensively documented analytics and modelling solutions, demonstrating their efficacy to business users and independent validation teams. Implementation of analytics and models in accurate, stable, well-tested software and work with technology to operationalise them. Provision of ongoing support for the continued effectiveness of analytics and modelling solutions to users. Demonstrate conformance to all Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Policies, particularly Model Risk Policy. Ensure all development activities are undertaken within the defined control environment.
Should be proficient in Exception Handling, Collections, Abstract Classes and Interfaces, Constructors, File IO (Input/Output) and Serialization, Collections (List, Map, Set), Access Specifiers, Exceptions (Checked, Unchecked), Generics, Java Keywords (Static, Final, Volatile, Synchronized, Transient), JVM (Java Virtual Machine) and Memory Management, Multithreading and Synchronization, JSP (Java Server Page)/ Servlets. Preferred technical and professional experience Should be conversant with Build tools like Ant, Maven and Git Must have experience on Design patterns and Optimize usage. Proven work experience on Spring Core, Spring ORM, Spring DAO, Spring AOP, Hibernate would be an added advantage.
